Compliance and Operational Risk Specialist

The successful Compliance and Operational Risk Specialist will be responsible for all aspects of operational risk management for one or more business units. You will be responsible to assist lines of business with the formulation and implementation of operational risk management policies, procedures and standards, which includes conducting baseline reviews and risk assessments. You will identify risks and implement measures to prevent, eliminate or mitigate losses and monitor outcome/risk levels for areas of operation. As a representative of risk management, you will maintain a partnership with management and present matters for review.

Preference will be given to those candidates who have eight years of risk management experience with five to seven years internal audit and/or relevant operational risk assessment experience within a financial services industry. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Internal Audit and/or equivalent education and work experience with a professional certification in CA or CIA.

• Understanding of risk management and audit or internal audit methodologies;
• Strong business insight and ability to understand and identify risks in business processes;
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills; and
• Excellent organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.
